Clouds on Mount Averau
This glimpse of the Dolomites is a classic view from Passo Giau towards Monte Averau. Thanks to the quality of the light and the drama of a sky that seems painted, even such a classic view can take on unique characteristics. On the left is Croda Negra, on the right at the base of Monte Averau is the refuge of the same name.

GIUSEPPE GHEDINA PHOTOGRAPHER
I was born in 1972 and live in Cortina d'Ampezzo, in the heart of the Dolomites. In addition to these wonderful mountains, I have explored and photographed other extraordinary peaks around the world, from Nepal to Pakistan, from Patagonia to the remote Svalbard. My namesake grandfather was one of the pioneers of photography in Cortina, but it was my passion for the mountains that drew me to photography. Since 2006, I have worked as a professional photographer, using photography to narrate the unique beauty of these mountains.
