Portrait at the Tofane
This image is born from a rare encounter between light and form, when landscape photography takes on the precision of a studio shot and the mountains offer themselves to the gaze like models to be portrayed . The Tofana di Rozes dominates the scene: a lateral beam of light, like a blade, sculpts its profile, revealing every detail of the rock and every stratification of time. In the background, the Tofana di Mezzo and Terza Tofana accompany the composition like theatrical wings, illuminated by an accent light that suggests their presence without detracting from the centrality of the main subject.

GIUSEPPE GHEDINA PHOTOGRAPHER

I was born in 1972 and live in Cortina d'Ampezzo, in the heart of the Dolomites. In addition to these wonderful mountains, I have explored and photographed other extraordinary peaks around the world, from Nepal to Pakistan, from Patagonia to the remote Svalbard. My namesake grandfather was one of the pioneers of photography in Cortina, but it was my passion for the mountains that drew me to photography. Since 2006, I have worked as a professional photographer, using photography to narrate the unique beauty of these mountains.
