A passion with ancient origins
My great-grandfather Giacinto (1853-1937) was among the first to introduce photography to Cortina d'Ampezzo and the surrounding valleys. My grandfather Giuseppe (1898-1986) brought the heavy photographic equipment of the time to the mountains and, together with his brothers, founded the postcard industry, helping to spread images of the Dolomites throughout the world.
Even today, if you happen to see an old print hanging in a shelter in these mountains, there's a good chance it's a photo taken by my grandfather.

Giuseppe Ghedina
I was born in 1972 and live in Cortina d'Ampezzo, in the heart of the Dolomites.
In addition to these wonderful mountains, I have explored and photographed other extraordinary peaks around the world, from Nepal to Pakistan, from Patagonia to Peru, and even the remote Svalbard.
Since 2006, I have worked as a professional photographer, using photography to narrate the unique beauty of these mountains.
I dedicate myself to various photographic genres, but mountain photography is undoubtedly my hallmark.
I define myself as a minimalist: in everything I do, I always seek the essence. That's why I love black and white photography. Color often captures attention, but when it is removed, what remains gains greater value.
