The King's Crown
The last rays of the sun rest like a crown on the snow-capped peak of Mount Antaleo, also known as the King of the Dolomites. The deep shadows of autumn slowly envelop the environment below in contrast with the intense details of the peak and the thin cloud that runs behind the mountain. The minimalist composition enhances the verticality and pyramidal symmetry of the wall, transmitting a sense of power but also of quiet.

GIUSEPPE GHEDINA PHOTOGRAPHER

I was born in 1972 and live in Cortina d'Ampezzo, in the heart of the Dolomites. In addition to these wonderful mountains, I have explored and photographed other extraordinary peaks around the world, from Nepal to Pakistan, from Patagonia to the remote Svalbard. My namesake grandfather was one of the pioneers of photography in Cortina, but it was my passion for the mountains that drew me to photography. Since 2006, I have worked as a professional photographer, using photography to narrate the unique beauty of these mountains.
