This photographic print shows a close-up of a detail of the south face of the Tofana di Rozes, the Primo Spigolo, for some a simple rock face, for others a journey into the history of mountaineering. Along this "line of light" runs a legendary mountaineering route opened on August 4, 1946 by Ugo Pompanin "Baa" and Albino Alverà "Boni".

GIUSEPPE GHEDINA PHOTOGRAPHER
I was born in 1972 and live in Cortina d'Ampezzo, in the heart of the Dolomites. In addition to these wonderful mountains, I have explored and photographed other extraordinary peaks around the world, from Nepal to Pakistan, from Patagonia to the remote Svalbard. My namesake grandfather was one of the pioneers of photography in Cortina, but it was my passion for the mountains that drew me to photography. Since 2006, I have worked as a professional photographer, using photography to narrate the unique beauty of these mountains.
